🎁💐Don't forget to get some for your family and friends as it's an unique gift idea

We used our elf as delivery man on a few nights. Morning on 1st December marked his arrival and he always brings along the kids’ advent calenders.

We also used him to deliver the kids invitations a few years ago to Lapland UK from the big man himself. If you get a chance to go it’s a truly magical Christmas experience.

Last year we are fortunate enough to be go to the real Lapland in Finland. It was a big secret from the kids, and we left it up to Buddy to deliver the good news to the kids on the morning of our departure.

On Christmas Eve, he has to head home back to Lapland, but always leaves a note and our Christmas Eve box for us to open.

Last year we also started the North Pole Breakfast tradition. On the first Sunday in December, the children will come down to an invitation from Buddy and the table all laid for this special breakfast.

The table laid out for our North Pole Breakfast. Christmas confetti on a white tablet cloth, plates with crackers on them and chocolate sweets dotted around the table.

NAUGHTY NAUGHTY ELF ON THE SHELF

By far my favourite elf on the shelf ideas and scenarios are when the little elf is getting up to no good.  These were what the kids loved most of all and still talk about today, but also what us parents had the most fun setting up.  Here’s a few mischievous things Buddy has got up to.

Leaving toothpaste messages on the mirror.

Adding food colouring to the milk, and hiding out in the fridge!

Having a number two (choc drops and sprinkles no less!) in Isla’s dollhouse toilet.

Tying up Oliver’s Superheros.

They got their own back though at a later date!

And again!

Stealing money from Mummy’s money box. You could even add a felt robber’s mask if you have time.

On of my favourites though was eating all of Daddy’s advent calender! With smears of chocolate around his moosh.

We used a similar idea the following year, scratching off my advent calender scratch card.

Or even taping up over the kids playroom door! (watch your paint work with this one!)

Last year we got a bit more creative, and I created a stencil and sprayed elf silhouettes on the patio doors. The kids thought I’d be cross as I’d just cleaned the windows, but little did they know it was all part of the plan.

Might not want to waste such a precious commodity this year, but this was fun! Turning the toilet roll into snowflakes.

ELVES JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN

It’s also fun just to let him do his own thing now and then, after all elves just want to have fun!

Creating snowangels in the kitchen. We used sugar as it tends not to get everywhere as much as flour does!

Fishing in the cat bowl with his wellies on.

Elf on the Shelf Ideas

Watching the iPad with his new found friends.

Dressing up as a fairy.

Creating a Skittle rainbow for the kids.

Playing Pie Face with Barbie.

Dressing up as Harry Potter!

This is quick last minute one. Rolling down the stairs in a toilet roll.

Dressing up as an astronaught. Oliver has a space room so we suspended him from his ceiling mounted solar system. The outfit was very simple crafted from some tin foil and a clear plastic bauble.
